Fall Retreat

Here we are, the Wednesday before the Fall Retreat. We will be headed to Gore this Friday for a weekend away from the busyness of the University life.

Oh, and we are taking over 400 students with us. Yeah, you read that correctly. 400 students. This is our largest retreat ever and is a 25% increase over last year. I’m excited for each student going!

When we got the final numbers yesterday I was more than shocked and excited. It’s amazing to see what God is doing here at the University of Virginia and is a great privilege to play a small part in it.

We are more than privileged to have Shawn Galyen coming in to do our retreat. Shawn is a dear friend of ours and a missionary to Spain.

We have some great things planned for this weekend. Meals together, sessions, giveaways, competitions, free time, and a few surprises that I don’t want to let out of the bag yet.

I’ve been going on Chi Alpha retreats since spring 2004. That’s a lot of retreats. However, I learn something new every time, even now. It’s nice to get away and be deep in the community for a weekend to see what God would teach you.

Below is a picture of how someone feels who didn’t sign up for the retreat.
