Book Review: Praying Circles Around Your Children

Last night during the debates I finished Mark Batterson’s Praying Circles Around Your Children. This book is a nice little accompaniment to the Circle Maker which I have also reviewed. I grabbed this book for free on kindle the other week, and it was more than worth that price.

Mark is a fantastic vision caster. He tells phenomenal, true, stories about him and his kids and really inspired me to pray for my kids more. I can’t express how valuable this is and how valuable it will be not only to my kids but to all the parents that read this little book. Sometimes, I have felt like Mark’s adventures are too much and too unattainable for most of Americans but I did not feel this way at all with this book. He casts the vision well and gives some great practical tips for what to do with this vision.

At one point Mark calls his kids “holy complications.” I definitely relate to this and loved how he explained how he loves being a parent and even a young parent. It’s not always easy, but it’s good.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who has kids or wants to have kids in the future. It’s free on kindle right now anyways, so there’s no reason not to pick it up.
