A Prayer Lesson I Learned from Levi

We’ve been trying to teach our kids to pray. How to have conversation with God and listen to Him. Luckily, we’ve had a lot of help from their preschool, other friends and family, church life and what not. Our kids do seem to like praying and they are praying, I do believe that.

The other night he prayed for Katie’s headache to go away on his way to bed. It did. He got up the next morning so excited to ask Katie if it went away because God told Him it would. It did.

Then he prayed for my truck to stop acting up. It did. I think I should still replace the instrument cluster, but it’s working right now.

This got me thinking as to what I should do next…

And I realized there’s only one primary answer to that.

This determined face has a better grip than you do.

Why I Can’t Have Reclining Furniture

Katie and I are in the process of building a house. Once it’s done, it will be the end of a very very long process dating back to the end of our first year of marriage. I know that one of the conversations we are going to have to have is about furniture. Our current furniture is from college and that can only cut it for so long.

But I don’t think I can get reclining furniture.

Caught Not Taught

We have a saying in Chi Alpha. Some things are caught, they’re not taught. Some things you just can’t learn in a classroom. I got a good picture of that this weekend.

Why My Daughter is a Pharisee

I came to the realization that my daughter is a Pharisee about halfway through my vacation. Just from being at home more, I picked up on her pharisaical tendencies. The subtitle to this post could be: Why does Levi hate the Jesus Loves Me Song?

Book Review: Real Marriage

I just finished reading Real Marriage by Mark Driscoll. I picked this book up with an Amazon gift card that Stefachap got for all of us in the Potomac District. I have had this book on my list since it came out, but was happy to stay away from it while all the controversy happened, as it seems to do every time Mark opens his mouth about something that could in any way be controversial.
